OCTOBER FEAST
2002 CELEBRATION
Our annual October Feast 2002 celebration on Saturday, October 12 was a big success. It was a
fabulous day! The event began with a luncheon buffet with partly potluck but mostly catered
foods, set in the garden with round tables and white linens at the home of Roger Calabio.
Without his gracious hospitality in opening his home to us, the day would not have been possible
with such a brief preparation. It was wonderful to meet and greet each other in such a
beautiful setting and weather.. The officers were happy to welcome and entertain everyone and
the guests enjoyed the food and the happy camaraderie. Philippine Consul Chris Montero and his
wife, Consul Malou Montero graced the occasion and we were thrilled for their presence and
friendship.
A nice makeshift altar in the garden was nicely prepared for the mid-afternoon Mass in honor of
our Lady of the Pillar (Nuestra Senora del Pilar) which was officiated by Fr. Ciriaco Escutin
and assisted by Erick Calabio. The death anniversary of Elnie Rosales Calabio and the passing
of Felix Ygar were remembered. The rest of the day and evening was joyfully spent inside the
house with exchanging pleasantries, singing contest and dancing, participated by kids and adults
alike. The affair ended with lots of food to take home.
